Kolkata, 17th June, 2026: In support of the “Swachhata Se Swagat” initiative advocated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Shri 1008 Munisuvratanath Digambar Jain Trust organized a special cleanliness drive on Tuesday morning to promote cleanliness, social responsibility, and community participation.

The campaign aimed to strengthen public awareness about cleanliness and encourage citizens to collectively contribute towards creating a cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful environment. The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from trustees, eminent members of society, women, youth, senior citizens, and local residents, all of whom came together in the spirit of community service and civic responsibility.

Among those leading the initiative were Trust President Sri. Vinod Kumar Jain (Kala), Vice President Sri. Mahendra Kumar Jain Pandya, Secretary CA Kamal Nayan Jain, Convener Sri. Suresh Patni, along with fellow trustees and volunteers. Participants undertook extensive cleaning activities across roads, lanes, footpaths, public spaces, and surrounding areas, spreading the message that cleanliness is a shared responsibility of every citizen.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri. Vinod Kumar Jain (Kala), Trust President, said, “The Hon’ble Chief Minister’s ‘Swachhata Se Swagat’ campaign is an inspiring initiative that provides positive direction to society. Cleanliness is the hallmark of a progressive and aware community, and no cleanliness movement can achieve complete success without active public participation. Such initiatives strengthen the spirit of responsibility and collective action within society.”

Speaking to the media, Sri. Mahendra Kumar Jain Pandya, Vice President of the Trust, emphasized that cleanliness goes beyond merely maintaining a clean environment; it reflects our values, discipline, and social consciousness. He urged citizens to treat public spaces with the same care and responsibility as they do their own homes and to make cleanliness an integral part of their daily lives.

Speaking on the occasion, CA Kamal Nayan Jain, Trust Secretary stated that cleanliness forms the foundation of a healthy and progressive society. He noted that the true objective of the “Swachhata Se Swagat” campaign is not only to clean public spaces but also to cultivate a lasting sense of awareness and civic responsibility among citizens.

The drive witnessed remarkable participation from trustees, their family members, members of the Jain community, women, youth, and local residents. Through voluntary service and collective effort, participants demonstrated that meaningful change becomes possible when communities come together with dedication and purpose.

At the conclusion of the programme, all participants collectively pledged:

“We will neither litter nor allow others to do so.”

The Trust expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all citizens, volunteers, local residents, and community members who supported and participated in the initiative.
