New Delhi: THDC India Limited’s 1320 MW under-construction Khurja Super Thermal Power Project has achieved another significant milestone as Wagon Tippler and its Side Arm Charger (Coal Handling Plant) have been successfully tested with a full load (empty wagon). Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman & Managing Director congratulated Team THDCIL on significant achievement and said that this comprehensive testing phase ensures that the wagon tippler complex is fully operational and ready to handle coal transportation and processing efficiently. The successful trial run highlights the readiness of the complex to manage the demanding requirements of coal handling and sets the stage for subsequent operations.
Sh. Vishnoi added that the operational parameters were met, with the tippler achieving the required tilt angle of 154 degrees with the dedicated efforts of entire CHP team along with other agency and consultants. Following this achievement, the primary focus now shifts to the testing of the Coal Crusher and Stacker-Reclaimer. These tests are crucial to ensure the commencement of coal stacking operations by the third week of July’24, he added.

This achievement underscores our technical capabilities and preparedness for the upcoming phases of the project.

This milestone completes the entire set of activities for the Wagon Tippler Complex, including Side Arm Charger, Tippler, Apron Feeder, Dribbling Conveyor, and Chutes. This is a major step towards the commissioning of the Khurja STPP. With this achievement as a stepping stone, THDCIL, supported by its team, partners, and stakeholders, is poised to make substantial strides in the energy industry, contributing significantly to the nation's progress.
Sh. Kumar Sharad, (ED Project – KSTPP); Sh. Vijay Kumar, (AGM- CHP & Rly. Siding); Sh. Ajees Thajudeen, (RCM, tkII), the entire CHP team, and all senior officers of THDC, NTPC, and tkII, etc. were present and witnessed the successful Tippling of Empty Wagon at the Wagon Tippler area.
