Full 220 MW Capacity in Madhya Pradesh Now Operational Under NTPC Renewable Energy Limited
New Delhi. NTPC Limited has announced that its step-down subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), has started commercial operation of the final 120 MW under Unit-II of the 220 MW Shajapur Solar Project in Madhya Pradesh. This declaration took effect from 00:00 hours on June 29, 2025, completing the commissioning of the entire project.

The project is being carried out through NTPC Green Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC, as part of its wider effort in renewable energy and large-scale solar installations. The announcement was made under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations, 2015, and shared with both NSE and BSE.
With this declaration, the full 220 MW capacity of the Shajapur Solar Project is now operational. This milestone shows NTPC’s ongoing growth in the renewable energy sector and adds significantly to India's solar generation capacity.
The project is expected to deliver clean energy to the grid and support the national goal of shifting to low-carbon electricity systems.
