New Delh– The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has further strengthened its position as a global leader in Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) training by successfully conducting the 20th Senior Fire Officer Course at its Fire Training Institute (FTI), New Delhi.

The specialized training programme was held from October 27 to December 19, 2025, and saw participation from 22 senior fire officers representing both Indian and international organizations. Participants included officers from the Qatar Airport Authority, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Jewar International Airport, a fire official from Cameroon, and senior executives from AAI.

The course focused on enhancing professional skills in airport fire safety, emergency response, and aviation fire management, aligning with international safety standards.

At the closing ceremony, Shri Vipin Kumar, Chairman of AAI, awarded certificates to the participants, marking the successful completion of the programme.

As part of the curriculum, officers received practical exposure and hands-on training through visits to key institutions such as Oil Marketing Terminals, DRDO Training Centre, and the Delhi Fire Services Training Centre. The programme also included expert sessions conducted by specialists from NDMA, Delhi Fire Services (DFS), and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB).

AAI stated that it continues to modernize its training facilities and remains committed to capacity building at both national and international levels by sharing its technical expertise and best practices in aviation fire safety.

The successful conduct of this programme reinforces AAI’s growing role in global aviation safety training and its contribution to strengthening airport emergency preparedness worldwide.
