AAI temporarily suspends civil flight operations at 32 airports across Northern and Western Region
Additionally, for operational reasons, the AAI has announced that 25 segments of Air Traffic Service (ATS) routes within the Delhi and Mumbai Flight Information Regions (FIRs) will be temporarily closed.

The temporary suspension of civil flight operations at 32 airports in northern and western India has been announced by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the appropriate aviation authorities. For operational reasons, all civil flight operations at these airports will be suspended from May 9 to May 14, 2025 (until 0529 IST on May 15).
Airports in Adhampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Awantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Naliya, Pathankot, Patiala, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise, and Uttarlai are among the impacted airports.

Additionally, for operational reasons, the AAI has announced that 25 segments of Air Traffic Service (ATS) routes within the Delhi and Mumbai Flight Information Regions (FIRs) will be temporarily closed. Until 2359 UTC on May 14, 2025, which is equivalent to 0529 IST on May 15, 2025, these 25 route segments will not be accessible from ground level to an unlimited altitude.
In accordance with the most recent air traffic advisories, airlines and flight operators have been advised to plan alternative routes. To maintain safety and minimise disruption, the closure is being handled in close coordination with Air Traffic Control (ATC) units.

The authorities have emphasised that every attempt will be made to lessen the impact on air traffic operations and that the temporary suspension is required for operational reasons. To guarantee the least amount of disruption, airlines are urged to check the most recent air traffic advisories and modify their flight schedules accordingly.
