1. Q3 FY26 Performance: Breaking Records
The third quarter (October–December 2025) has been a period of significant operational growth for CIL.

Production Milestone: As of mid-January 2026, CIL has already produced 529.2 Million Tonnes (MT) of coal, achieving 60% of its ambitious FY26 target of 875 MT.

December Surge: Production in December alone grew by 4.6% year-on-year, reaching 75.7 MT.

Subsidiary Superstars: South Eastern Coalfields (SECL) emerged as the top performer this quarter with a staggering 28.2% production growth.

2. The BCCL IPO: A New Era of Transparency
In a landmark move for Indian PSUs, Coal India successfully launched the Initial Public Offering (IPO) for its subsidiary, Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), in January 2026.

Massive Demand: The IPO was oversubscribed by 146 times, signaling immense investor confidence in India’s coking coal value chain.
