New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited has bid farewell to Shri Shyam Sunder Agrawal, Executive Director (O&M – CO), on his superannuation after a distinguished career spanning more than 35 years with the company.

Agrawal joined GAIL in 1990 as an Instrumentation Engineer at Vijaipur, beginning a career that would see him take on responsibilities across some of the company's key operating locations, including Vijaipur, Usar and Pata.

An Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering graduate from Gwalior University, Agrawal later completed an M.Tech in Computer Science. Before joining GAIL, he began his professional career with National Fertilizers & Chemicals as an Assistant Engineer in Instrumentation.

Over the years, Agrawal moved into senior leadership roles, including at Vijaipur, before joining GAIL's Corporate Office in Noida in 2023.

A Career Built Around Operations and Maintenance

Agrawal's career at GAIL was closely associated with the company's Operations & Maintenance (O&M) function. His expertise in instrumentation, plant operations and engineering supported GAIL's gas processing and transmission facilities.

GAIL said his contribution helped strengthen its O&M capabilities, with his career reflecting technical expertise, operational discipline and leadership across different roles and locations.

With his superannuation, GAIL has recognised the completion of a career spanning over three and a half decades and thanked Agrawal for his contribution to the organisation.

The company wished him good health, happiness and success as he begins the next chapter of his life.
