MCL Commissions 4,000 MT Silo at Ib Valley Coal Washery for Faster Coal Evacuation
Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has commissioned a 4,000 MT capacity silo at Ib Valley Coal Washery in the Lakhanpur Area, marking a step towards faster and more mechanised coal evacuation.
The new facility is designed to strengthen First Mile Connectivity (FMC) and enable mechanised loading of washed coal into railway rakes.
The silo was jointly inaugurated by A. K. Pandey, General Manager, Lakhanpur Area, and Ghanshyam, Area Railway Manager, Indian Railways, in the presence of senior officials and employees from MCL and Indian Railways.
According to MCL, the facility will help enable faster loading of washed coal into railway rakes, improve rake utilisation and streamline despatch operations.
The development is aimed at supporting a more efficient and reliable movement of coal to the country's power and industrial sectors.
