A Joint Venture of GAIL, BPCL & and the government of NCT Delhi, Indraprastha Gas Ltd has stated through exchange filing to develop a 500 MWp solar power plant in Rajasthan through a joint venture project.

The project will be processed in conjunction with Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RVUNL), a state-run power company and is part of IGL's broader aim to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and enhance India’s renewable energy capabilities.

This is to inform that Board, in its meeting held on March 29, 2025, has inter alia approved the setting up of Solar Plant in the State of Rajasthan through a Joint Venture with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL), with an estimated equity investment of approx. Rs. 382 Crores by IGL, as per the exchange filing.

As per the shareholding pattern, IGL will hold a 74 per cent ownership in the joint venture, while RVUNL will possess the remaining 26 per cent. RVUNL will also assist the transmission of power produced from the solar plant within its forthcoming solar park in Bikaner.
