New Delhi: Petronet LNG Limited on January 2, 2026 informed the stock exchanges that Shri Pankaj Jain has ceased to be the Chairman and Director of the company with effect from January 1, 2026, following his superannuation as Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The intimation was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations.

The company stated that the change took place pursuant to communication received from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, confirming that Shri Jain demitted office on December 31, 2025 after completing his term as Secretary.

Shri Pankaj Jain, aged 59, is a senior IAS officer with extensive experience in governance, public policy, and economic administration across central and state governments. His professional journey covers critical sectors including oil and natural gas, banking and financial services, power, information technology, MSME development and livelihoods.

An alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and an MBA from FMS Delhi, and is also a qualified Cost Accountant. Over the years, he has served as Chairman or Director on the boards of several major institutions such as Petronet LNG, Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited, Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank, IDBI Bank, LIC, SIDBI, Exim Bank and the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development.

At the time of his retirement, Shri Jain also held the position of non-executive Chairman of Petronet LNG Limited, Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited and the Oil Industry Development Board, playing a significant role in shaping India’s energy and financial ecosystem.

Petronet LNG has conveyed the development to both the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange for information and record.
