New Delhi: State-owned steel maker Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has announced the successful supply of nearly 15,000 metric tonnes of high-quality steel for the crucial 51-km Bairabi–Sairang railway project in Mizoram.

This strategic supply of steel will directly support the construction of key infrastructure such as bridges, stations, and tracks, accelerating the completion of this vital rail link. The Bairabi-Sairang section is a critical part of the broader railway network expansion in the Northeast, aimed at enhancing connectivity, promoting economic activity, and fostering regional development.
