Senior CIL Official Takes Over Key Exploration Role at CMPDIL

New Delhi: Coal India Limited (CIL) has strengthened its exploration leadership with the assumption of charge by Shri Rajiva Kumar Singh as Executive Director (Exploration) on 29 December 2025. He officially joined Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL), Ranchi on 1 January 2026.

 

Before this appointment, Shri Singh held several important leadership positions at CMPDIL and also served as the Nodal Officer to the Ministry of Coal, overseeing both promotional and detailed exploration projects.

An alumnus of Science College, Patna, and Patna University, he holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. in Geology. With more than 30 years of professional experience, Shri Singh has worked across the country in geological exploration, resource assessment and project planning, playing a vital role in strengthening India’s coal resource base.

His deep expertise in modern exploration techniques and large-scale national projects is expected to significantly benefit CMPDIL and further support the growth and efficiency of India’s coal sector.
