Shri Rohit Mathur Appointed Government Nominee Director on GAIL Board

New Delhi, 9 March 2026: GAIL (India) Limited, India’s flagship natural gas company, announced the appointment of Shri Rohit Mathur as a Government Nominee Director on its Board. Shri Mathur, currently serving as Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG), will hold the position for three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The appointment, effective 9 March 2026, comes as part of the Ministry’s ongoing oversight and strategic guidance of public sector undertakings in the energy sector. GAIL has initiated all necessary formalities for the director’s onboarding, in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

This move strengthens the company’s alignment with government policy objectives in the oil and natural gas sector and ensures strategic oversight for key projects, including natural gas pipeline expansion, LNG imports, and domestic gas marketing initiatives.
