SJVN Hosts State Level Painting Competition to Promote Energy Conservation Among Students of Himachal Pradesh

SJVN successfully organized the State-Level Painting Competition for school students across Himachal Pradesh at its Corporate Headquarters, Shimla. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Speaker of Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Kuldeep Singh Pathania, who presided over the prize distribution function as the Chief Guest.

Shimla: 20.11.2025 SJVN successfully organized the State-Level Painting Competition for school students across Himachal Pradesh at its Corporate Headquarters, Shimla. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Speaker of Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Kuldeep Singh Pathania, who presided over the prize distribution function as the Chief Guest.

Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), SJVN, along with senior officials, warmly welcomed the Hon’ble Speaker. During the visit to the Exhibition Gallery, Hon’ble Speaker viewed the prize-winning paintings and congratulated the students for their exceptional creativity in portraying themes related to energy conservation. He also appreciated the collective efforts of students, teachers, parents and SJVN in raising awareness about sustainable energy practices.

On this occasion, Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma highlighted that under the aegis of Ministry of Power, SJVN has effectively partnered with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, the State Government, the State Education Department, and other agencies in organizing the School and State Level Painting Competitions. As the Nodal Agency for Himachal Pradesh since 2005, SJVN has been instrumental in advancing the National Campaign on Energy Conservation and fostering a culture of sustainable practices from an early age.

During the prize distribution ceremony, the Hon’ble Speaker presented First, Second, and Third Prizes of Rs. 50,000/-, Rs. 30,000/-, and Rs. 20,000/- respectively to both Group A (Classes 5th–7th) and Group B (Classes 8th–10th). Ten Consolation Prizes of Rs. 7,500/- each were awarded in each category. All participants received mementoes, a participation amount of Rs. 2,000/- and LED bulbs to encourage sustainable practices.
 

In the School Level Painting Competition, the first phase of the campaign, this year 2,23,917 students from 4825 schools across 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh participated. From this, 55 best paintings from each category were selected by an eminent jury to advance to the State Level Painting Competition, which formed the second phase.

In the third and final phase, the First, Second & Third prize winners of the State Level Painting Competition in both categories will compete in the National Level Painting Competition at New Delhi on 11th December 2025.The Award function of National Level Painting Competition will be held on National Energy Conservation Day i.e on 14th December 2025,
