BEL Recruitment 2026 for PhD Professionals in E-III Grade

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking and India’s leading defence electronics company, has invited applications from experienced professionals for the post of Member (Research Staff) in E-III Grade. The recruitment is for its Central Research Laboratories located in Bengaluru and Ghaziabad.

A total of 10 positions have been announced across the following domains:

Aerospace / Civil Aviation – 1 post
Artificial Intelligence – 3 posts

Cyber Security – 1 post
Robotics / Autonomous Systems – 1 post
Quantum Technology – 1 post

Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess a PhD degree (awarded or provisional) in the relevant domain from a recognized university or institution approved under UGC regulations.

Experience Requirement

Candidates must have a minimum of four years of post-qualification industrial experience as on December 31, 2025. Teaching, academic research, internships, banking and financial sector experience, and contractual or trainee roles in BEL or other PSUs will not be considered as valid industrial experience.

Age Limit (as on January 1, 2026)

The upper age limit for General candidates is 37 years. Relaxation of three years is applicable for OBC (NCL) candidates and five years for SC/ST candidates. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are eligible for an additional 10 years of relaxation as per government guidelines.

Pay Scale and Benefits

The selected candidates will be appointed in the E-III grade with a pay scale of ₹50,000–₹1,60,000 (3% annual increment). Five advance increments will be granted at entry level along with two years’ seniority benefit. The compensation package includes Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, 35% of basic pay as perks, Performance Related Pay (PRP), medical benefits, provident fund, gratuity, superannuation pension and group insurance as per company rules.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of a written test followed by an interview. Candidates will be shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:7 based on written test performance and category-wise merit. Call letters will be sent via email only, and updates will be published on the BEL website.

Application Fee

General and OBC (NCL) candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹750 through SBI Collect via the BEL website. SC, ST and PwBD candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.

Important Notes

Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. BEL internal candidates are not eligible for this recruitment. Candidates working in government or PSU organizations must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview. Outstation candidates (excluding NCR region) called for interview will be reimbursed II class rail fare by the shortest route, subject to submission of proof.
