BHEL's CSR Project at Mandya Medical Institute to Benefit Over 2,500 Patients Daily
New Delhi, June 17, 2026: Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy inaugurated a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project implemented by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) at the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) in Karnataka.
The initiative aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve patient convenience at the government medical institution, which caters to thousands of patients every day.
Infrastructure Upgrades to Enhance Healthcare Facilities
The CSR project undertaken by BHEL includes several key infrastructure developments, such as:

Construction of toilet blocks;

Installation of an elevator;

Provision of a roof sheet for the child care building; and

Creation of other supporting facilities.
According to BHEL, these improvements are expected to significantly enhance healthcare services and patient experience at the institute.
More Than 2,500 Patients to Benefit Daily
The upgraded facilities are expected to benefit over 2,500 patients every day, improving accessibility, sanitation and overall convenience for patients and attendants visiting the hospital.
The project forms part of BHEL's broader commitment to supporting social development and strengthening public infrastructure through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
