Union Bank of India Elevates Omprakash Shriniwas Karwa as Chief General Manager

Mumbai: Union Bank of India has announced a change in its senior management. Shri Suresh Chandra Teli, Chief General Manager of the Bank, superannuated from service on 31 August 2026.

Following this, Shri Omprakash Shriniwas Karwa, who was serving as General Manager, has been elevated to the post of Chief General Manager with effect from 1 September 2026.

Shri Omprakash Shriniwas Karwa is a Chartered Accountant with more than two decades of experience in the banking sector. During his career, he has held key leadership roles across multiple areas, including:

  • Credit

  • Recovery

  • Finance & Accounts

He also has significant experience in branch and field administration, having successfully managed branches of different scales and business profiles. The bank has noted his leadership, strategic vision, and understanding of banking operations in driving business growth, strengthening risk governance, and improving operational efficiency.
