NHPC Organises Breast Cancer Awareness Programme Ahead of International Women’s Day

New Delhi, March 5, 2026: NHPC Limited organised a breast cancer awareness programme titled “Aao Dekho Seekho – A Breast Cancer Awareness Programme” at its Corporate Office in Faridabad as part of activities leading up to International Women's Day.

The programme was conducted in collaboration with Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram, and was organised with the support of the NHPC WIPS (Women in Public Sector) Cell. Around 70 women employees, including contract staff, participated in the awareness initiative.

Focus on Early Detection and Preventive Health

The session focused on early detection and preventive healthcare practices, particularly through Self Breast Examination (SBE). Participants received practical guidance and training on how to perform SBE, which plays a crucial role in the early detection of Breast Cancer.

The programme also featured an interactive session with Dr. Ananya Deori, Breast Surgeon from Medanta – The Medicity, who explained the importance of regular screening, awareness of symptoms, and timely medical consultation.

Senior NHPC Officials Emphasise Health Awareness

Addressing the gathering, Reshma Hemrajani, Executive Director (Finance) and President of NHPC’s WIPS Cell, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting health awareness and early diagnosis of breast cancer among women.

She emphasised that awareness programmes play a vital role in encouraging preventive health practices and improving overall well-being among employees and society at large.

Senior NHPC officials including Madhusmita Pany, Executive Director (Law), and Manisha Shrivastava, Executive Director, Design (E&M), along with other women executives, were also present during the programme.

The initiative received strong appreciation from participants, who found the session informative and empowering. The programme served as an important step toward raising awareness about breast cancer and encouraging women to adopt proactive health monitoring practices.
