ACC Approves Dr. Prabir Kumar Naik’s Promotion as Member (Scientific) in CGWB

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of Dr. Prabir Kumar Naik for promotion to the post of Member (Scientific) in the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB).
According to an Information Note issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on May 28, 2026, Dr. Naik will be promoted to the position in Level 14 of the Pay Matrix.
The communication regarding the empanelment has been forwarded to the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation for further necessary action.
The Central Ground Water Board functions under the Ministry of Jal Shakti and plays a key role in groundwater management, assessment, monitoring, and sustainable water resource planning across India.
The appointment is being viewed as an important administrative development in the country’s groundwater governance and scientific management framework.
