SECL Signs MoU with RERF for Nasha Mukt Bharat Mobile Van
New Delhi: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation (RERF) to roll out a specially equipped Mobile Health Awareness Vehicle. The initiative, launched as a CSR project under the national Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, was formalised on 29 August 2026.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL; Shri Ajay Behera, General Manager (CSR), SECL; and Brahma Kumari Rukmani Didi, along with other representatives of RERF.
Key details at a glance
-
Funding: SECL is providing ₹22.23 lakh for the vehicle and allied equipment.
-
Focus areas: Preventive healthcare, awareness against substance abuse, de-addiction support, and promotion of healthy lifestyle practices.
-
Target groups: School and college students, youth, rural communities and other vulnerable sections.
-
Goal: Take awareness messages directly into communities and contribute to a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
The mobile unit will travel to schools, colleges and villages in SECL’s operational areas, delivering on-the-ground sessions rather than relying only on static campaigns. Officials said the approach aligns with SECL’s broader CSR commitment to community welfare and inclusive development.
By combining SECL’s resources with RERF’s experience in value-based education and community outreach, the partnership aims to make preventive messages more accessible and sustained. The vehicle will serve as a moving platform for health talks, counselling referrals and lifestyle guidance, especially for young people who are most at risk of substance abuse.
SECL stated that the project strengthens its contribution to the national Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan while reinforcing its role as a responsible corporate citizen in the regions it operates.
