Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat: NTPC Vindhyachal Celebrates National Sports Day with Sporting Fervour and Cycle Rally
New Delhi: NTPC Vindhyachal celebrated National Sports Day 2026 on August 29 with a vibrant series of sporting and fitness activities under the Fit India theme “Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat.”
The celebrations at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stadium commenced with floral tributes to legendary hockey icon Major Dhyan Chand by Shri Kishore Kumar Hota, Executive Director (Vindhyachal), and the senior management team, followed by the NTPC Geet and Sports Pledge, administered in English by Shri Hota and in Hindi by Shri M. Suresh, GM (O&M). More than 200 employees and family members participated enthusiastically in Men’s and Women’s 100-metre sprints across age categories, Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Relay Races, and the Mentor–Mentee Race, showcasing fitness, teamwork and sporting spirit. The athletics events concluded with a prize distribution ceremony honouring the winners.
On August 30, 2026 the celebrations culminated with an energetic Cycle Rally led by Shri Kishore Kumar Hota, witnessing enthusiastic participation from employees, family members and children. Addressing the participants, Shri Hota emphasised the importance of making fitness and healthy living an integral part of everyday life. Dr. B. K. Bharali, GM (Medical Services), Shri Sivaprasad, GM (FM), Ms. Mrinalini, AGM (HR), Shri Pranav Verma, AGM (HR), and ESKOM delegates from South Africa also joined the rally, bringing the celebrations to a spirited conclusion while reinforcing NTPC Vindhyachal’s commitment to a healthy, active and inclusive sporting culture.
