SECL DTO Reviews Safety & Operations at Key Coal Sites

SECL Director (Technical Operations) Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar visited key operational sites of the company to review safety standards, coal production, dispatch operations and overburden management.

At Saraipali Open Cast Mine, he inspected ongoing mining activities, coal production levels and safety arrangements. He interacted with field officials and underlined the need to maintain safe as well as efficient mining practices while meeting production targets.

At Manikpur Silo, Shri Jayakumar reviewed the coal dispatch system and IR rake loading arrangements. He assessed operational preparedness and stressed the importance of uninterrupted coal dispatch without compromising on safety.

He also visited the Kusmunda Rehabilitation & Resettlement site at Jatraj village, where an overburden dump slide had occurred on the road a day earlier. After inspecting the affected area, he reviewed the existing OB management practices and road safety measures.

Shri Jayakumar directed officials to implement necessary preventive steps, ensure continuous monitoring of OB dumps and further strengthen safety arrangements to prevent similar incidents.

The visit reflects SECL’s continued focus on operational efficiency and safety across its mining and dispatch locations.
